Hello!

Hello!

About Claire

Hello, I’m Claire and I'm the proud owner and lead therapist at the Canine Bodywork Clinic (CBC) in West Lothian.

I am a Clinical Canine Massage therapist and Canine Hydrotherapist.  I help to rehabilitate soft tissue and muscular injuries, often seen as lameness and stiffness, and help to support orthopaedic conditions, such as arthritis and hip dysplasia, as well as rehabilitation and fitness.

As with most people working within this industry, I have always had a natural passion/obsession with animals from a young age, specifically dogs.  Throughout my working life, I was always learning as much as I could; I have studied Animal Behaviour and Psychology, completed Animal Health and Welfare Certification, Canine Body Language Certification, Introduction to Tellington Touch Certification, earned my Canine First Aid and I'm a Usui Reiki Practitioner but it was when my old soulmate GSD, Misty, had the onset of arthritis that I was first introduced to Clinical Canine Massage.

Then following on from Misty, my beloved South African Mastiff, Zuri, was diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia as a puppy.  Part of her preparation and rehabilitation was Clinical Canine Massage and Hydrotherapy; these therapies combined played the vital part of her success, after double FHO and 20% right femur removal (and various other issues along the way).  Seeing the phenomenal impact these therapies had on Zuri,  I undertook my studies with the outstanding Natalie Lenton, at the Canine Massage Therapy Centre and have since became a member of the Canine Massage Guild and IAAT.  I then studied my L3 Canine Hydrotherapy between the UK and Ireland, with the distinguished Barbara Houlding and Claire O'Donnell of K9HS.

And so, Canine Bodywork Clinic has been formed, and will continue to evolve, to provide the absolute BEST care possible for your dog and ensure they have the quality of life they deserve.

I am a proud member of the Canine Massage Guild

Members of the Canine Massage Guild have to be fully trained and accredited, with a minimum of 25hours of CPD per year, every year.  All therapists adhere to Veterinary Act 1966 & Exemptions Order 2015, and all therapists are fully insured.

The Canine Massage Guild works in harmony with the Veterinary community via their Integrated Veterinary Care Initiative, to ensure patients are receiving comprehensive vet-led multi-modal care.
