K9HS

Who are they?

K9HS are quite frankly, the best in the business!

K9HS lead the way in providing innovative and astounding training in Hydrotherapy.  Lead by a dedicated team of physiotherapists and advanced hydrotherapists, and founded by the inspirational Barbara Houlding, who you can find more about below.

K9HS support their therapists from the beginning, through advancement, to end and beyond, with an amazingly supportive community who are always there throughout the journey.

The way in which K9HS teaches is modern, unique, professional, very extensive, and extremely supportive, to ensure your clinical skills are of the absolute highest quality.  This is backed by K9HS offering courses which are Ofqual regulated, endorsed QLS and IRVAP accredited.

K9HS wants to ensure dogs lives are being proactively improved by providing pathways for their therapists to focus on developing each dog's functional mobility and ensure they have the best quality of life.

They do not stop at the therapist though, K9HS offer a free wellbeing guide too, which you can download here: https://k9hscourses.com/k9hs-canine-health-wellbeing-bitesize-guide/

On a personal note, I have found K9HS course quality absolutely fantastic.  The knowledge and skills imparted from every member of the K9HS team has been life changing for me as a therapist and I cannot thank each one of them enough.

Who is Barbara?

Barbara is a fountain of knowledge that I could listen to forever to be honest, I found her teaching methods so accessible.  It's not only her credentials, knowledge and understanding that makes her stand out from the rest but it's her absolute passion about improving dog's lives that I am always in awe of.  This is also so very true of the dedicated team around Barbara too, they are all truly amazing in their fields.

Barbara is a Chartered human physiotherapist, a veterinary physiotherapist, an advanced hydrotherapist and an accredited clinical educator.  She leads an amazing team of Veterinary Physiotherapists and advanced Hydrotherapists at K9HS courses and along with the outstanding Clinical Services Principal, Sarah Ward, operate the dedicated K9 Hydro Services Centre in Suffolk.

With a phenomenal amount of lecturing experience in educational establishments such as the Royal Veterinary College and the Nottingham Vet School, Barbara has created, developed and taught courses which have lead the way for so many therapists.  She is an international speaker and instructor in rehabilitation, canine physiotherapy and hydrotherapy, and has presented at numerous major conferences over the years.  As well as all of this, Barbara was awarded the first UK Accredited Clinical Educator in Veterinary Physiotherapy by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists and was also presented with the Canine Hydrotherapy Association Award for Outstanding Services.

Above all though, Barbara is committed to significantly making a difference to dog lives through a proprioceptively enriched way, by working with the dog in its natural balanced stance and motion, identifying behavioural solutions and all together optimise their functional abilities.  Barbara shares her momentous clinical skills and knowledge amongst the therapists that she teaches, and encourages and empowers them to continue advancing their skills.
